When organizing your closet for the new season every year, you often find that there is not enough space to store your clothes, or you need to dispose of some clothes that you no longer wear. To make it easier for you to recycle and store your clothes, I have compiled a list of clothing recycling organizations in Hong Kong.

Clothing Recycling Organization｜The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army Recycling Program accepts donations of clothing, footwear, bags and accessories for recycling. Some of the items will be consigned for sale, while others will be donated to the underprivileged, such as the elderly living alone, street sleepers, ex-prisoners and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients.

Donation Method 1: Door-to-door Recycling

The Salvation Army provides door-to-door collection service for larger quantities of goods (about 5 red, white and blue plastic bags). This method is very convenient, but advance notification is required to facilitate transportation arrangement.

Donation Method 2: Material Recovery Station

Donors can drop off their items at The Salvation Army's collection points, including those at Wood Road, Wan Chai, Wing Sing Lane and Tai Hang Tung, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, as well as the Logistics Center at Cheong Wing Road, Kwai Chung, New Territories.

Clothing Recycling Organizations｜Friends of the Earth (HK)
Friends of the Earth (HK) Waste. The Do-Not-Fee Recycling Program has over 200 collection points throughout Hong Kong accepting donations of clean clothes, shoes, handbags, backpacks, accessories, as well as toner cartridges and ink cartridges. These used items will be distributed free of charge to the needy or resold to places where there is a demand for used items, and the proceeds from the sale of these items will support Friends of the Earth (HK)'s environmental protection work.

Donation Method 1: Door-to-door collection

If the quantity of donated used items exceeds 5 bags (with each bag measuring at least 24' x 12' x 28'), you can make an appointment for door-to-door collection service. Please notify the organization in advance and arrange a time (7 to 14 working days in advance is required).

Donation Method 2: Used Clothes Recycling Bins

Friends of the Earth provides used clothes recycling bins at designated locations, and the organization's fleet will collect them on a regular basis.
